This Software Engineer (DevOps) 09 Level 3 or 4 role will be located in either our Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum, MD sites.
This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission. Development is done within the Agile paradigm using the Atlassian tool suite. The work is full-time in the office. The qualified candidate must have and be able to maintain a DoD clearance.
The successful candidate will have software development experience, the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, and adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs, specification updates, or the customer. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer.
The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow.
In This Job, You Will
Support the Processing Team in development of tasking and scheduling software
Be on an Agile team supporting two programs with a singular baseline
Work to execute 2-week sprints for 3-month increment deliveries
Design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications
Other duties as assigned
This position is contingent upon clearance verification and transfer to the NG sponsored program as well as continued ability to maintain required clearance level.
Basic Qualifications This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate0s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.
Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [TS/SCI] at time of application
Level 3:
Bachelor0s degree with 5 years of professional experience
Master0s degree with 3 years of professional experience
PhD with 1 year of professional experience (excluding internships, research projects, etc.);
May consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a completed bachelor0s
Level 4:
Bachelor0s degree with 8 years of professional experience
Master0s degree with 6 years of professional experience
PhD with 4 years of professional experience (excluding internships, research projects, etc.);
May consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a completed bachelor0s
Java experience
Software design experience
Software unit testing experience
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservice architecture (containerization)
Object-oriented design experience (OOD/OOP)

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $165,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
