Job Title: Federal Work Study Residence Hall Monitor--Residence Life (Fall 2025/Spring 2026) Location: Gordon State College Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time About Us Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC offers an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. Job Summary The Residence Hall Monitor is responsible for overseeing the visitation check-in process within the residence halls and ensures all rules and regulations are enforced. Responsibilities Assists with daily operations of his/her designated residence hall. Assists in controlling noise in lobby lounges and surrounding areas of assigned residence hall. Maintains a clean and attractive lobby and work area. Maintains all rules and regulations of the residence hall and the College. Exerts a positive attitude and influence on residents. Helps create a conducive residence hall living environment and campus community. Reports emergency situations to the Resident Director and, as needed, Public Safety. Reports all damages of assigned residence hall to Resident Director or official designee. Monitors and retrieves proper identification for residents and their guests regarding visitation privileges. Attends meetings with the Resident Director or official designee as scheduled to share comments, concerns, and/or suggestions. Assumes all other duties as assigned by the Resident Director or official designee in the comprehensive operation of Housing and Residence Life. Required Qualifications Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours for any semester of employment. Must have the ability to follow and enforce College/residence hall rules and regulations. STUDENTS APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE AVAILABLE BETWEEN THE HOURS 10 AM-6 PM.
