Civil Engineering Co-op - Airports/ Aviation Infrastructure
at Jacobs This co-op supports projects in the Airports/Aviation Facilities team in Cary, NC, with a schedule aligned to the NC State semester (January 2026 – May 2026). The base pay range is $40,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year, and compensation is hourly based on hours worked. Jacobs aims to deliver innovative solutions for aviation infrastructure and related facilities. Responsibilities
Assist in the design of airfield pavements, including runways, taxiways, and aprons. Support development of airport terminal area plans and landside facilities. Contribute to preparation of technical reports and design documentation for aviation projects. Participate in site visits to assess airport conditions and collect data for project planning. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver solutions for aviation infrastructure. Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Coursework related to transportation engineering and airport planning. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and ArcGIS (preferred). Ideally, familiarity with FAA design standards and regulations. Previous internship with an airport authority or engineering consultant focused on aviation projects. Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (now or in the future).
