Overview
WRS - Worldwide Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Controls Specialist to support its Siemens-Moore APACS Distributed Control System (DCS) on a contract for a leading chemical manufacturing company in Panama City, FL. The assignment is schedule-driven and time-critical, with immediate needs to configure, commission, and support new and existing thermal oxidizer systems. The role includes project support, configuration of combustion controls, DCS communications, Wonderware HMI integration, and Profibus communications. Responsibilities
Configure Siemens-Moore APACS 4-Mation and associated hardware (SAM, EAM, SDM+ cards). Configure and troubleshoot APACS I/O wiring and terminations. Set up and support Wonderware Process Suite v5, including HMI screens Alarms Historian Tag server Configure and troubleshoot APACS Profibus PFM cards, including tag mapping. Support integration between APACS and Rockwell Allen-Bradley ControLogix, focused on communication setup (not programming). Support combustion controls fuel/air ratio characterization, programming checkout, and NFPA 86 compliance. Provide assistance during system FAT, outage, commissioning, and live system testing. Offer remote and onsite support (remote work possible, though no remote programming access is permitted). Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated expertise with Siemens-Moore APACS 4-Mation. Hands-on experience with Wonderware Process Suite v5 configuration. Strong knowledge of Profibus communications and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Rockwell Allen-Bradley ControLogix communications setup. Proven background in combustion controls and NFPA 86 standards. Ability to work independently under schedule-driven project requirements. Project Background
The plant operates two thermal oxidizers (RTO-A and RTO-B) to maintain production reliability. Scope includes Adding RTO-B combustion controls to APACS DCS. Modifying existing RTO-A APACS/Profibus setup. Configuring Wonderware HMI, historian, alarms, and tag server. Supporting system checkout, commissioning, and outage activities. Contract Details
Initial term 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension for ongoing APACS support. Flexibility for remote support combined with onsite visits (schedule to be coordinated). Engagement is urgent, with work aligned to outage schedules. Seniorities & Employment
