Overview
Our client seeks candidates with fundamentals of networking (routers/protocols/etc). Secret clearance and Sec+ are required. Multiple teams exist, covering Router/Switch, UC/VOIP, LAN/WAN, Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, Satellite communications, etc. Each team has slightly different responsibilities, aligned with the candidate’s skills. Examples of team missions include the TR/IP NOC supporting a WAN for DISA in a 24x7 environment (Layer 2 and Layer 3 support), remote monitoring and management, incident documentation, and serving as liaison between DISA and the customer. Other teams include JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack) enterprise system, ESGS (Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services), Airborne ISR operations support, MDA GMD communications network, and other services such as operational engineering, service activations, performance and configuration management, administration, and security. Responsibilities
Conduct network incident investigation. Identify and document network errors and solutions. Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues. Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture. Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices and phone systems, including phones, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, and related telecom trunks. Maintain network devices and related equipment to support operations. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma and 1-3+ years of relevant technical discipline; additional related experience accepted in lieu of a degree. Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date. Able to work in a 24/7 shift environment. Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, and performance management. Experience with routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching. General understanding of network topologies (transport and IP). Currently possess an active Secret security clearance. Skills & Qualifications
Network engineering, Router, Firewall. Sec+, CCNA Security, CySA+ (or equivalent), High School diploma with 1-3 years of related experience. Able to work in a 24x7 environment; day swing and midnights shifts; weekend day off; rotating schedule. Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver information to customers at all levels. Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and upgrade to Top Secret (as applicable). Pay: $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on classification and length of employment.
