Systems Engineer - Interface Engineer (25-277) E3 / COS-83 or HSV
role at Apex Systems Multiple openings for Systems/Interface Engineers in the Colorado Springs area. Clearances: Secret or Top Secret; various experience levels wanted. Responsibilities
Lead in authoring the development of ICDs and IDDs, establishing interfaces between external elements (including sensors) and Command and Control Systems. Develop and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents (IDDs) to program standards. Create requirements captured in DOORS with sufficient detail for implementation teams. Attend interface working group meetings with MDA customers and external element engineering organizations; support program integration and test efforts for interfaces. Support other interface engineers in developing ICDs for BMDS elements; support requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling as assigned. Support spiral leadership to ensure artifacts and system assessment tasks for sensor interfaces are completed as required. Qualifications
5+ years of Systems Engineering experience Understanding of systems engineering processes and principles; track record applying SE principles to develop product solutions Experience in requirements elicitation including use behavior diagrams to understand and decompose requirements Experience with interface engineering and authoring ICDs/IDDs, including message definition/processing rules, message formatting (XML, VMF, etc.), physical/network specifications and OSI model, network topologies and devices; network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.) Requirements engineering and development of behavioral models/diagrams (use cases, sequence/activity diagrams); strong written and oral communication Experience with IBM Rational DOORS is highly desirable RMF-based cybersecurity experience; familiarity with Agile/Iterative development is a plus Ability to collaborate in a team under the SEMP and related processes Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering. Master’s Degree desirable. Compensation
