This role includes empathetic pharmacy consulting, preventive and clinical healthcare services, and management of pharmacy operations, staff performance, and patient experience. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Job Summary
Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow, inventory, and patient experience. Oversees staff development, coaching, and formal performance management initiatives. Responsibilities
Patient Experience: Engage patients, resolve issues timely, answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience; model customer service best practices; proactively offer services and promote Walgreens clinical offerings; participate in community events as requested. Operations: Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy; perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management; dispense medications accurately; ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures; oversee staff scheduling and shift changes; support Good Faith Dispensing with state and federal laws; participate in strategic opportunities with the Store Manager; maintain pharmacy IT systems and improve productivity; resolve insurance issues and prevent claim rejections; coordinate with providers for optimal medication use and conduct or participate in third party audits; conduct immunizations, diagnostic testing, and disease state management; manage maintenance and layout of the department; prepare required state/federal records and documentation. People & Performance Management: Collaborate on hiring, discipline, and performance management; set expectations and goals; recognize improvements; manage career progression; address employee relations concerns. Training & Personal Development: Maintain licenses/credentials; pursue ongoing professional development; complete required training; seek feedback and utilize mentors. Communications: Share corporate health and wellness strategy information with staff. Business Performance & Planning: Analyze pharmacy financials, customer service, and inventory; manage asset protection; develop relationships with local medical community; promote growth opportunities and community health awareness. Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software, and insurance billing. Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws. Internal candidates: average leadership rating of at least 3.0 on last performance review and no disciplinary actions in the last 12 months. About Walgreens
