Description Echocardiograph Technologist at Swedish Issaquah. Part time 0.75 FTE, Day Shift. This position is responsible for performing adult M-Mode, Two-Dimensional, Pulsed and Continuous Wave Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, Stress (Treadmill and Pharmacologic) Echocardiography, and assisting cardiologists with TEE exams. Proficiency in writing preliminary reports for placement in the electronic medical chart immediately following every echo exam is required. The position requires the performance and understanding of anatomy on adult patients. This role may involve working at and traveling between Swedish Health Services hospitals and clinics.
Responsibilities
Performs and understands all adult M-Mode, Two-Dimensional, Color Flow, and Pulsed and Continuous Wave Doppler Imaging procedures on inpatients and outpatients as scheduled. Able to assist cardiologist during a TEE exam, including thorough knowledge of TEE anatomy. Performs stress echocardiograms, including treadmill and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Performs procedures in the cardiac cath lab, including TEE, ICE and transthoracic echocardiograms. Able to utilize digital echocardiogram recording system, including acquisition of images, writing preliminary reports, and review and retrieval of studies. Able to utilize hospital based electronic medical record system. Demonstrates good oral skills to give a thorough preliminary report to physicians, nurses and other medical staff. Answers the Echo Lab telephones and performs same day scheduling. Attends reading sessions and assists the cardiologist with the echo interpretations. Assists with the instruction of ultrasound student interns. Is available for after hours call. Carries a pager on a rotational schedule. Performs inpatient exams at the bedside, including moving echo equipment and assisting with patient lifting and positioning. Recognizes and understands normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy. Able to perform echocardiographic studies on all age groups indicated. Move echo equipment to mobile sites to perform echocardiograms and stress echoes. Participates in restocking and cleaning of all echo equipment and rooms. May transport patients to and from departments using proper body mechanics.
Required Qualifications
Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of a formal accredited Ultrasound training program. Upon hire: National Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. 6 months internship in cardiac scanning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound. 2 years of cardiac scanning experience with adult patients.

The base pay range listed is $53.99 - $82.86, with additional compensation possible via shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
