Responsibilities

As an OB/GYN sonographer, you will perform early obstetrical ultrasound to confirm pregnancy location, cardiac activity, dating, and assess the uterus and adnexa using transabdominal and transvaginal approaches. You will be cross-trained to perform various perinatal obstetric ultrasound examinations, including: Detailed first and second trimester anatomical surveys Fetal growth assessments Cervical length assessments Recognition of normal and pathological conditions Application of additional modalities as indicated (e.g., Doppler, 3D/4D) You will review history in the EMR, image according to protocol, discuss cases with the care team, and generate preliminary reports using structured reporting software. Familiarity with identifying and troubleshooting imaging IT issues is required. You may be assigned other duties as needed. Depending on experience, this position may be hired as a Senior Ultrasound Tech or Principal Ultrasound Tech. Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN Current BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months Commitment to ongoing education in MFM ultrasound with at least 15 CMEs (20 CMEs for Principal level) every 36 months in OB ultrasound and/or fetal echocardiography Recent OB ultrasound experience in a similar role and setting Effective verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills Demonstrated knowledge of sonographic assessment of maternal-fetal conditions, fetal anatomy, physiology, anomalies, and high-risk maternal factors Preferred Qualifications

Recent experience performing GYN ultrasound in a similar role Two to three (2-3) years OB fetal ultrasound experience Special Conditions

Must be able to work at various locations in the San Diego region (e.g., Sorrento Valley, La Jolla, Hillcrest, Encinitas) Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical Pay and Benefits

Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $136,743 - $170,068 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly equivalent: $65.49 - $81.45. The Hiring Pay Scale reflects budgeted pay and may be broader based on internal equity, budget, and bargaining agreements. Additional requirements: If employed by UC, comply with vaccination policies.
