Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Locum Tenens opportunity in Chicago, IL. 13-week contract at a Level 1 Trauma Center with night shifts in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Location: Chicago, IL 60612
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/14/2025, End: 1/13/2026)
Shift: Nights, 4x10-hour shifts (9:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,750 – $2,820
Call Requirement: One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Floating: Mandatory float within 50 miles as needed
Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois nursing jobs)
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
Level 1 Trauma experience required
Strong scrub and circulate skills (perioperative nursing)
Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
BLS certification required
COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required (no exemptions for COVID-19; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
Ability to float to other units as needed
Must complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting assignment
Responsive communication and timely completion of compliance requirements
Responsibilities
Deliver perioperative nursing care, including scrubbing and circulating for diverse surgical procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain a safe and sterile operating room environment
Float to other units within scope as required by facility needs
Participate in call rotation and work every other weekend as scheduled
Document patient care using Cerner charting system
Adhere to hospital policies, including dress code and attendance requirements
