Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room
Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
Start Date: October 14, 2025
End Date: January 13, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: 5x8-hour evening shifts (2:30pm – 11:00pm)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Call Requirement: One 12-hour shift per month (Saturday or Sunday, 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am)
Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles as needed
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2750–$2820
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago healthcare jobs)
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
Level 1 Trauma experience required
Proficient scrub and circulate skills
Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
BLS certification required
COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no COVID exemptions; flu exemptions for medical/religious only)
Ability to float to other units within scope as needed
Responsive and able to meet compliance deadlines
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy Level 1 Trauma OR
Scrub and circulate for diverse surgical procedures: Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
Participate in scheduled weekend and call rotations
Float to other units within the facility or nearby locations as required
Document patient care using Cerner charting system
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination and time-off requirements
