Overview

This position is located with the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Sports Medicine, in San Diego, California. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities

Perform a variety of professional direct health care clinical duties within general sports medicine, orthopedics, and family medicine, including joint and soft tissue injections. Perform medical screening examinations. Gather health and medical history from patients or family members to record findings. Provide a full range of emergency services or crisis interventions in the absence of the physician. Write prescriptions, order the administration of medications, dispense medications, and prescribed controlled substances in accordance with approved treatment protocols. Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members regarding treatment and medical care. Qualifications

US Citizens To qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid work, volunteer service, and National Service programs. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts may be required for education-based qualifications. Basic Requirements for Physician Assistant Education:

Graduation from an ARC-PA-accredited physician assistant program. Certification:

Successful completion of the NCCPA examination; maintenance of certification including CME and recertification requirements. Licensure:

Active, full, unrestricted Physician Assistant license/registration in the United States or a federal jurisdiction. Exemption:

Federal employees in the 0603 occupational series may be exempt if continuously employed since Sept 27, 2017 or earlier; documentation required. Requirements to qualify:

A minimum of one full year of work experience as a certified Physician Assistant, including obtaining medical history, performing examinations, and prescribing medications. This is typical of the GS-11 level. Education note:
