The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a research faculty to join the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine is actively recruiting a research faculty with interest and/or expertise in endocrinology related research to join our esteemed faculty. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at understanding and treating endocrinology disorders, leveraging our state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment. In addition to research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring. The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of endocrinology specialists through lectures, seminars, and hands-on training. Duties And Responsibilities Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of endocrinology including, but not limited to endocrinology disorders, diabetes, metabolism, endocrine cancer, reproductive endocrinology, lipids, osteoporosis, and neuroendocrine Develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in Department, College and University committees and initiatives Requirements PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01 or Career Development Award) Academic experience a plus Qualify for an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training experience The Ohio State University is an equal opportunity employer, including veterans and disability.
