Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in transplant immunology; develops and writes grant proposals to obtain extramural funding; secures NIH R01 or equivalent funding. Writes and publishes research in peer-reviewed journals; presents at national and international conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation. Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives. Requirements

PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research and transplant immunology; experience in immune activation and immune tolerance Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer-reviewed journals (preferred) Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01) Academic experience a plus Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level – rank and salary commensurate with training and experience Department/Division Overview

The Department of Surgery, Division of Abdominal Transplantation at The Ohio State University has an opportunity for tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor level with research interests related to transplant immunology. Faculty are expected to contribute to a cohesive transplant immunology program, collaborate with immunology leaders, and pursue external funding.
