Description
This position is responsible for teaching, research, administration, and service activities related to the Decatur Family Medicine Residency program and the FQHC. It includes outpatient care and inpatient services. Examples of Duties
Teaching 45% Supervise resident physicians and medical students in patient care activities at the Family Medicine site and other outpatient settings. Conduct and supervise teaching rounds on hospitalized patients. Participate in education conferences, seminars, and lectures for resident physicians and medical students. Supervise, observe, and evaluate resident physicians and other advanced students in the Family Medicine Program. Enhance the residency program through teaching and service activities. Service (Patient Care) 47.5% Provide direct patient care to own patient panel. Participate in the Family Medicine Faculty Inpatient call. Serve on school-wide, departmental, community, and hospital committees as requested. Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities. Provide emergency services as needed, including for patients without a primary care physician. Engage in professional organizations and committees as delegated. Administration 2.5% Manage clinical and educational activities related to the program as delegated by the Residency Program and Medical Director. Research 5% Design and execute research projects with faculty assistance. Assist residents and students in research development and supervision. Qualifications
Must possess an MD or DO degree. Board Certified or Eligible in Family Medicine at the time of hire. Graduate of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois. Possess a DEA number at hire. Experience serving multicultural populations. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minorities.
