The Department of Classics at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. This is a tenure-earning position that will begin in August 2026. We seek a specialist in Greek history and/or historiography with a focus in the Hellenistic period, broadly defined, and research interests that complement those of existing faculty. The 2/2 teaching assignment normally includes both undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching with at least one large undergraduate course with broad appeal to non-majors. Qualifications

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution is required, as well as a developing record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to both research excellence and engaged teaching to multiple constituencies. Other Information
