Senior Analytical Metrologist
will deliver sustainable higher quality and yield improvement of all products through a deep understanding of critical processes and technologies employed in the company. Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance Testing, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. Develop and implement new metrology technologies and improve on existing metrology tools and protocols associated with all measuring activities in the company. Essential Functions As a metrology expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include: Technical Expertise : Develop a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, focusing on metrology systems. This includes expertise in areas such as: Ultrasensitive Detection : Detecting trace dopants and metals with high sensitivity. Separation Science : Understanding separation techniques for accurate measurements. Statistical Treatment of Data : Applying statistical methods to analyze and interpret measurement results. Hypothesis Testing : Validating hypotheses related to process control. Cleanroom Theory and Operation : Knowledge of cleanroom environments and their impact on measurements. Sampling Science : Ensuring representative sampling for accurate assessments. Silicon Spectroscopy : Understanding silicon properties and their impact on measurements. Electrical Characterization of Semiconductors : Focusing on impurity effects. Etch Chemistry : Understanding etching processes and their measurement implications. Standards and Calibrations : Ensuring traceability and accuracy. Basic Silicon Chemistry : Fundamental knowledge of silicon properties. Subject Matter Expertise : Serve as a go-to resource for resolving technological challenges related to metrology. Your insights will contribute to process improvements and quality assurance. Instrument Stewardship : Method Development : Create robust measurement methods. Measurement System Analysis : Assess and optimize measurement systems. New Instrument Qualification : Ensure new instruments meet performance standards. Troubleshooting : Investigate and resolve measurement issues. Utilize models, data analytics, and experimental design to drive technical excellence. Manipulate data effectively to extract meaningful insights. Knowledge Documentation : Document your expertise, technical challenges faced, and innovative solutions. Become a reliable source of long-term retrievable knowledge for the organization. Additional Duties/Responsibilities Auxiliary support for other departments in finding external labs for the non-routine characterization of any samples. Led small teams to accomplish project goals Serve as a technical project leader for capital projects Assist Process Engineering with technology transfer into high-volume manufacturing Participate in Six Sigma Projects as a root cause investigation member. Act as a technical expert in Manufacturing to address acute and tactical problems Skills Pro-active / Ownership / Action Oriented Technical Project Management Thinks Strategically Plans and Aligns Work Communicates Effectively Manages Complexity Statistical Process Control Education Requirements Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Analytical Spectroscopy with two years’ experience OR M.S. in Analytical Chemistry or Analytical Spectroscopy with five years' experience OR B.S in Analytical Chemistry or Analytical Spectroscopy with ten years’ experience Required Work Experience Laser spectroscopy - In-depth technical knowledge applied to quantitate metrology tools, including photoluminescence, Raman, LIBS, and particle analysis techniques. Applied Silicon spectroscopy skills - FTIR, photometry, and non-laser-based optical particle analysis. The range for this position is $108,528.00 - $149,226.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, variable bonus, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
