Senior Assessment Analyst —a role that’s more than a job, it’s a pivotal piece of our strategic puzzle. This role is critical in orchestrating research and evaluation endeavors, acting as an asset to propel the unit’s mission and uphold accreditation standards. It entails executing research and evaluation initiatives on programs and services at both divisional and institutional levels. Additionally, this position is instrumental in providing assessment and strategic planning aid across the unit and extending its reach throughout the campus. Such efforts are crucial in fostering a robust culture of assessment and continuous improvement at Auburn University.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and mentorship to Student Affairs staff in the development of measurable program objectives and learning outcomes. Guide the creation of appropriate assessment plans and conduct meta-assessment reviews to ensure quality and alignment with institutional goals.
Serve as a resource for assessment tools and processes, including software platforms, survey administration, database management, reporting templates, and annual documentation workflows related to SACSCOC accreditation. Design, implement, and interpret assessment, evaluation, and research projects. Areas of focus include learning and program outcomes, student retention and success measures, integrated institutional and unit-specific research data sets, satisfaction and benchmarking studies, participation in national assessment studies, and strategic plan alignment.
Manage and oversee survey projects, applying principles of research and measurement theory to ensure rigor and reliability. This includes psychometric characteristics, qualitative/quantitative analysis, and adherence to human research integrity.
Collaborate on professional development activities for staff to enhance their assessment and strategic planning competencies.
Support strategic planning efforts, including the implementation of a divisional strategic plan and related processes.
Foster relationships across the Division and Institution to facilitate data collection, analysis, and utilization for program design and decision-making.
Develop and implement data systems, including databases, analytics tools, and data collection strategies that enhance statistical efficiency and ensure data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications Education:
Master’s degree in Statistics, Educational Research/Assessment, Higher Education, Adult Education, or relevant field
Experience:
Three years of experience in design, analysis, reporting of data analysis or institutional research
Minimum Skills, Licenses, And Certifications Minimum Skills and Abilities:
Experience with program assessment, strategic planning, student affairs, and accreditation standards.
Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research, including survey design and data analysis.
Experience developing and managing data visualization dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
Skilled in designing, administering, and analyzing surveys using Qualtrics.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage complex data.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g., SPSS).
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with university partners.
Familiarity with strategic frameworks, outcomes-based planning, and performance metrics.
Knowledge of college student development theory and standards such as CAS and ASK.
