Accounts Payable Specialist

LeverageTek Staffing Solutions is actively seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a 12-month contract with its Charlotte, NC based customer.
Work Location : Hybrid (required 4 days on-site per month)
Key Tasks:
Process invoices, employee expenses, and payment requests promptly and accurately.
Communicate with vendors to address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and process credits or adjustments.
Investigate and resolve issues related to payments, statements, or outstanding balances.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies and facilitate accurate financial reporting.
Monitor and maintain the accounts payable mailbox, responding to emails and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
Handle high-volume transaction processing with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Utilize tools like Basware, NetSuite, and Kyriba to support AP processes and reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, including support for year-end reporting (e.g., 1099 and 1042 filings).
Reconcile accounts, analyze statements, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries related to accounts payable.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with the team to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Key Qualifications:
Proactive and solutions-oriented — you take initiative and look for ways to improve processes.
Minimum 2 years working in
high-volume
transaction environments Strong computer skills , especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, basic formulas). Assets: Prior experience in AP or finance support. Familiarity with ERP systems like Basware, NetSuite, Workday, or Kyriba. Exposure to automation tools or a demonstrated interest in process efficiency LeverageTek is an equal opportunity employer.
