We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to play a critical role in our financial management, specifically in cost accounting. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures, and a proven track record of managing raw materials, WIP, and BOMs. This role will be integral in providing financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting support to our organization. Responsibilities
Manage and analyze cost accounting data, ensuring that costs are allocated according to established procedures. Review BOMs and standard costs for accuracy and make necessary adjustments. Conduct regular variance analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure that all costs are accounted for accurately. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, providing detailed insights into our company's financial status. Oversee the general ledger, ensuring that all entries are accurate and up-to-date. Handle project management responsibilities, coordinating with various departments to ensure that all financial aspects of projects are handled efficiently. Perform account reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies. Assist in the budgeting process, providing detailed cost projections and assisting in the development of the company's financial plan. Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and complete. Work closely with the financial management team to develop strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures. Experience with raw materials, WIP, and BOMs. Strong skills in financial reporting and variance analysis. Proficiency in general ledger management and account reconciliation. Experience in project management and budgeting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems. Equal Opportunity
