Responsibilities Seeking a strong candidate to fulfill the role of Associate in the Infrastructure Syndicate team based in New York. The Associate will be responsible for origination and execution of syndicated loan financings in the Americas across all of the group’s activities and markets.

Continuously follow market trends to identify active participants in the market, prevailing market terms and pricing, depth of market and other factors in lending and underwriting decisions

Pitch and advise clients on the status of the market and the structures and syndication strategies needed for best execution in the syndicated loan capital markets

Partner with SG's industry sector teams to develop market-based structures and creative capital raising solutions

Develop relationships and maintain a dialogue with peers at other banks and non-bank institutions as a source of market intelligence during the origination process and market capacity during syndication

Work alongside the industry sector teams to originate syndicated loan mandates and to execute transactions once mandated

Develop junior members of the Syndicate team, and manage deal teams in the context of new deal origination and execution

Provide market outreach and market intelligence to the industry sector teams in the context of financial advisory mandates

Required qualifications

Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines on active bookrunner/lead arranger mandates in the syndicated loan market

Strong presentation skills, both orally and written

Basic understanding of complex financial structures and legal documents

Credit skills and ability to properly assess underwriting risks

Existing relationships with key participants in the syndicated loans markets

Strong networking skills both internally and external to the firm

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

3+ years within financial services, specifically loan capital markets & syndicate, or in one of the target sectors (Energy Project Finance, Digital Infrastructure and/or Core Infrastructure)

Knowledge of the loan capital markets, loan investor base and financing structures relevant to the target sectors

Series 79, 63 and SIE licenses required. If not already obtained, must be obtained within 5 months of hire.
