Westside Health Authority (WHA) is a nonprofit community development organization with over 30 years of experience serving Chicago’s West Side. Our Property and Maintenance Department plays a vital role in ensuring WHA-owned buildings, residential units, and leased spaces are safe, well-maintained, and aligned with our community-focused mission. The Assistant Property Manager provides essential administrative and operational support to the Property and Maintenance Department. This role supports daily coordination of maintenance activities, vendor management, recordkeeping, and leasing-related tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, familiar with property management software (Yardi), and brings a proactive, team-oriented mindset to keeping WHA’s properties running smoothly. Candidates with a current Illinois real estate license are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and track maintenance service requests, vendor assignments, and follow-ups using Yardi or similar property management software. Maintain organized property records, including leases, permits, inspection reports, work orders, invoices, and compliance documentation. Assist with property inspections, lease renewals, unit turnovers, and move-in/move-out coordination. Communicate with tenants, program staff, and vendors to schedule repairs, routine maintenance, or property visits. Support preparation of purchase requests, vendor contracts, and invoice submissions for approval. Monitor property-related supply inventory and assist in ordering or sourcing materials. Assist with documentation and follow-up related to emergency facility issues or urgent repairs. Provide administrative support on property development projects, space planning, and site improvements. Prepare routine status updates or reports for the Property Director regarding maintenance needs, lease activity, or vendor performance. Attend local site visits as needed and occasionally represent the Property and Maintenance team in internal meetings. Qualifications:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred) 1–3 years of experience in property management, leasing support, or facilities administration Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to interact professionally with vendors, tenants, and community stakeholders Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits Preferred: Licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker or Leasing Agent Knowledge of affordable housing, Chicago building codes, and landlord/tenant law Experience working in a nonprofit, social service, or community-based organization Job Details:

Full-Time Compensation:

$40,000 – $50,000 annually (commensurate with experience) Schedule:
