Our site in Burnet, TX is seeking a highly interactive and hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team, with occasional assistance to our Round Rock, TX site.

Role overview:
The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing EHS programs and procedures, and continuously assessing performance through audits and inspections to verify comprehension of Entegris global policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Responsibilities include environmental compliance and hazardous waste management. The position plays a critical role in creating an injury-free work environment, promoting new initiatives, and achieving industry best performance. The role supports a proactive culture in creating a sustainable, environmentally compliant, and solution-driven operation. This position is a key member of the site Safety Leadership Teams, including Emergency Response, Sustainability, and applicable safety committees.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with employee occupational health, safety and environmental laws, rules and regulations, applicable company policies and procedures (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DEA, DHS).
Implement company EH&S policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and best management practices.
Create and submit EH&S reporting to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local laws, regulations and rules.
Lead the implementation and management of site-wide EHS programs such as corporate EHS Programs, training, emergency response, ergonomics, incident investigation, auditing, and performance evaluation; drive a culture of EHS excellence and secure engagement among site employees and leadership.
Lead the Sustainability / Waste Minimization team, drive reduction in hazardous waste and energy usage, and ensure the team is active, engaged, and recognized.
Assist with improving job safety analyses (JSA), ergonomic assessments, lockout/tagout procedure management, PPE assessments, and deliver EHS training related to compliance.
Take proactive action to implement immediate and effective corrective actions to eliminate safety hazards.
Lead efforts to secure all required environmental permits, licenses and authorizations; support design reviews of new projects and modifications to identify and resolve EHS issues and incorporate lessons learned.
Prepare EHS metrics reports that track the facility’s EHS performance.
Interact with upper management to direct and implement effective policies and procedures; demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Have the discretion to shut down equipment, tools, or projects if there is an imminent hazard to health and well-being of employees or to protect company property and the environment.
Understand and influence company strategy related to Environmental Health, Safety and Security compliance at the site level.
Demonstrate effective communication, relationship-building, and the ability to influence site management, frontline supervision, and other employees; emphasize cross-functional collaboration and teamwork, including with outside third parties.
Perform industrial hygiene sampling.
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related EHS discipline from an accredited college or university is preferred.
A Bachelor of Science degree in OSH or environmental science with at least three (3) years of EHS program development, implementation, and leadership experience with a focus on environmental compliance; experience with OSHA, US EPA and state-level programs.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or a related EHS discipline.
Outstanding candidates will have
Knowledge of Federal and State Environmental laws, regulations, codes, and best management practices.
Knowledge of hazardous materials management and environmental regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships quickly across all levels.
Experience in employee development and training.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and effectively communicate with Executives, Front Line Supervision, and other employees.
High initiative, teamwork, and ownership.
Proficiency with computers, email, video conference tools, and office software.
