Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT — The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Mathematics beginning fall 2026. The department seeks applicants who will contribute to teaching core major requirements in analysis and algebra and offer electives in areas such as complex analysis, representation theory, number theory, or logic that augment the curriculum in Mathematics. The successful candidate will advise, mentor, and teach courses at all levels of the curriculum, from introductory calculus to senior offerings. Candidates who demonstrate a capacity to include undergraduates in their research program are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

Teach core major requirements in analysis and algebra and offer electives in areas such as complex analysis, representation theory, number theory, or logic. Advise, mentor, and teach courses at all levels of the curriculum, from introductory calculus to senior offerings. Include undergraduates in research where possible. Contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings as part of a full teaching load. Contribute to service to the College, including committee work and potential leadership roles (e.g., Director or Chair) when asked. Qualifications

Ability and interest in teaching mathematics at a liberal arts college to a diverse student body. Willingness to contribute to teaching, research, and service as part of a full-time, benefits-eligible position. Salary and Benefits

Salary is in the hiring range of $88,963 - $100,129 per year, plus benefits. Application Process
