Our Quality Engineer help create solutions as part of the Quality Assurance. They work to find defects, determine the causes of those defects, and provide solutions to defective problems. The Quality Engineer for Aviation Aircraft Parts is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the inspection, certification, and compliance of aircraft parts. This role involves overseeing quality control and assurance processes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing a team to uphold the organization’s commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency. Position Summary

The Quality Engineer for Aviation Aircraft Parts is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the inspection, certification, and compliance of aircraft parts. This role involves overseeing quality control and assurance processes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing a team to uphold the organization’s commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Management Oversee and manage the inspection of incoming aircraft parts. Develop and implement inspection protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as our Quality Manual and FAA regulations. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of quality inspection tools and equipment. Investigate non-conforming parts and manage the quarantine process. Quality Assurance Oversight Establish and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues. Coordinate internal and external audits, including FAA, EASA, and other regulatory authority inspections. Develop and update quality documentation, including policies, procedures, and inspection checklists. Regulatory and Compliance Ensure all parts and processes comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other relevant regulatory authorities. Maintain proper traceability and documentation for all aircraft parts, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and airworthiness certifications. Lead efforts to detect and prevent counterfeit or unapproved parts in the supply chain. Team Leadership Train, mentor, and supervise the QA/QC team to ensure consistent application of quality standards. Promote a culture of quality awareness across departments. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements in processes and systems. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to address quality concerns and enhance product reliability. Lead initiatives to reduce defects, optimize processes, and improve overall efficiency. Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of Repair Processes, products, and production equipment. Make sure processes adhere to quality standards. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Work in accordance with deadlines for delivery of products and services. Actively participates in root cause analysis Collect, organize, monitor, and distribute information related to the Quality Management System and process improvement functions. Ensure that procedures and work instructions are documented according to corporate, ASA and regulatory standards. Perform and report supplier and internal audits. Provide supplier quality performance input to support the Quality Management System Participate and lead external audits to include ASA and regulatory audits.
Experience
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance/control within the aviation or aerospace industry. Prior experience managing a team in a QA/QC capacity. Previous work experience in an aircraft parts environment Quantum experience preferred. ASA auditing experience preferred. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license. ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). ISO Lead Auditor Certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aviation quality standards. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in using quality management software and ERP systems. Effective communication and leadership abilities. Knowledge of Aerospace Standards Strong leadership abilities Proven problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to gather and compile large amounts of data and produce usable format for decision making. Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Proven excellent follow-up and organizational skills. Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to handle deadlines and work well under pressure. Understanding of aviation business and management principles.
