The Department of Behavioral Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL) invites applications from well-qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Health Psychology, with a preferred start date of September 2026. The department is interdisciplinary, with faculty specializing in psychology, sociology, anthropology, and related fields. Psychology is one of the largest majors on campus, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in health psychology, clinical psychology, and psychotherapy. Responsibilities
The position carries a 2-2 teaching load. Faculty also supervise undergraduate honors and master’s thesis research and are encouraged to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research. The department values research in areas such as behavioral interventions for chronic diseases, stress and coping, psychological factors in disease management, and health disparities. Qualifications
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program. Licensure in Michigan or eligibility (including PSYPACT) preferred but not required. Ability to teach health psychology and clinical psychology courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
