Process Development Scientist Responsibilities
Conceive, design, implement and execute specific scientific experiments, which contribute to the successful completion of goals and/or projects under general guidance of supervisor. Conceive and design, execute or evaluate, and interpret experimental strategies. Provide input to new processes to generate robust and reliable data. Ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with the respective protocol and applicable guidelines and regulations. Design, monitor or conduct experimental strategies with general guidance from supervisor. Provide data analysis and interpretation, and assess the impact of the data on the project. Keep current in the field of scientific expertise and areas relevant to their function. Monitor field of expertise, including literature and technology development, and communicate relevant observations. May introduce advanced scientific methods. Develop and implement new and novel protocols to address specific issues. May represent the department on project teams under supervision of a senior scientific staff member. Fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Available to work extended hours, with possible weekends and holidays. Qualifications
Requirements
Doctorate degree or Master degree and 5 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor degree and 6 years of scientific experience Life Sciences and/or Engineering (statistics, mathematics, systems engineering, industrial engineering) Attributes
Relevant work experience in data analysis or related field (e.g., statistician, data scientist, computational biologist). Experience working with large, complex data sets and solving difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Ability to conduct end-to-end analysis including data gathering and requirements specifications, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations. Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, MATLAB, SAS, Jump, Minitab) and database languages (e.g., SQL). Experience with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, and stochastic models. Ability to articulate business questions and use mathematical techniques to arrive at answers using available data. Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools for a given data analysis problem. Data system knowledge – OSIsoft PI / Spotfire / OVDAS / PLM. Skills
