As a Process Engineer – Project Engineer, you’ll be part of our team that specializes in the engineering of public water systems including PFAS treatment systems and large-scale water treatment plants providing sustainable solutions and offering innovative approaches to help preserve safe and reliable water delivery for California. Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, support client communications, and help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards. Support Project Managers in delivering large-scale water and wastewater treatment projects from planning through construction. Participate in facility planning, alternatives evaluations, and conceptual design tasks. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports to meet client objectives. Participate in project meetings and facilitate completion of action items to ensure timely progress. Lead the preparation of design calculations, process modeling, and equipment sizing for PFAS treatment (e.g., GAC, IX, RO), filtration, disinfection, and other unit processes. Identify and evaluate innovative technical solutions with senior engineers. Assist in preparing materials for client presentations, progress updates, and decision-making sessions. Participate in site visits, pilot testing, and construction support as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California PE preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months). 5+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment design. Experience with PFAS, GAC/IX/RO systems, or other advanced treatment technologies preferred. Familiarity with process modeling software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Compensation
