Office of Marketing and Communications

increases the visibility of IU's global engagement and effectively communicates its value to all the university's constituencies. We develop clear and compelling messaging regarding the scope, impact, and value of IU's global engagement, supporting the university's internal and external communications strategy to promote IU's leadership in global research and education. Department Specific Responsibilities

Builds Salesforce emails in Marketing Cloud in coordination with Digital Content Strategist and Director of Communications. Builds monthly OIA newsletters using Marketing Cloud. Builds weekly emails to promote International Student Success programming. Supports OIA-sponsored events through the creation of event emails as needed. Maintains open communication with IU Global units to gather content, news, updates, and events for content creation via Outlook. Maintains compliance with IU practices for Marketing Cloud and email communications, and remain current on email framework updates. Shares email tracking information with respective units. Updates data extensions via Convergence Cloud when necessary. Other duties as assigned to support IU Global mission online and across campus. Seeks new communication partnerships as appropriate. Copywriting as necessary under the supervision of the Communications Team. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required

Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University on either the Bloomington or Indianapolis Campus Preferred Students majoring in relevant fields, such as Communications, Marketing, and International Studies Preferred 1 year of relevant experience Skills Required Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Highly thorough and dependable Willingness and ability to learn new technology Preferred Salesforce Marketing Cloud Digital design platforms such Adobe Illustrator/InDesign, Canva, etc. Microsoft Teams Outlook Asana Experience with Level 2 access in Marketing Cloud What The Student Will Learn In This Position

Convey ideas effectively across digital platforms by crafting targeted email communications and newsletters for diverse audiences. Evaluate and synthesize information from multiple IU Global units to support strategic messaging and storytelling. Collaborate professionally with staff and campus partners to promote international student success and global engagement. Design and implement digital communication strategies, gaining hands-on experience with tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Canva. Adapt to challenges and make informed decisions in a dynamic communications environment, learning to tailor messaging and formats to evolving needs. Foster community and intercultural understanding by amplifying programming and events that support global citizenship. Indianapolis, Indiana Education/Social Work Building $16.00 per hour Allotted 42 hours for the academic year, excluding holidays and official breaks recognized by the university. 3 days a week, for approximately 4 hours a day.
