Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – Solid Earth Dynamics and Structure at Rice University, Houston, TX. Responsibilities
Establish a vigorous, externally funded research program in Solid Earth Dynamics and Structure, including areas such as geophysical imaging, geodesy, earthquake processes, and computational modeling of deformation from local to global scales. Develop and teach core courses; design undergraduate and graduate courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. Engage in service to the department, university, and the broader scientific community. Collaborate on growing Rice initiatives and contribute to research efforts aligned with Rice’s strategic plan. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Earth, Environmental, or Planetary Science or a related field by the time of appointment. Demonstrated potential for an externally funded research program and effective teaching capability. Research interests spanning Solid Earth Dynamics and Structure, including but not limited to geophysical imaging, geodesy, earthquake processes, and computational deformation modeling.
