Assistant Professor of Forensic Investigation

starting in August of 2026. We are seeking a candidate who can contribute to curriculum development as we pursue FEPAC accreditation. While a background as a criminalist with Laboratory or Field Experience is preferred, applicants from all forensic specialties are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefit-eligible appointment with a salary range of

$64,000-$68,000

per academic year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated competency teaching multiple existing courses (e.g., Criminalistics, History and Ethics of Forensic Investigation, Senior Seminar) and the capacity to develop and teach courses within their area of expertise (e.g., Crime Scene Documentation, Fingerprinting & Other Biometrics).

The typical teaching load is 4 courses per semester (4/4).

Actively participate in research/scholarship/professional activities.

Provide career and academic advising/mentorship to students.

Participate in department, college, university, and public service activities.

Other duties may be assigned by the Department Chair.

Qualifications

One of the following: a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD, EdD, PsyD) in Forensic Science, a natural science, or a related field; an ABD (all but dissertation) who will be contractually obligated to have earned their doctoral degree by January 1, 2027; or a Master of Science (MS) in Forensic Science, a natural science, or a related field with at least five years of work experience in forensics.

Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Forensic Science as well as other related courses.

At least one year of relevant teaching experience at the university level.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
