The Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC) is seeking applications for the position of veterinarian within the Division of Veterinary Medicine to help meet the needs of the program.
The TNPRC is one of seven National Primate Research Centers in the U.S., accredited by AAALAC International. It houses approximately 5,000 nonhuman primates (NHP) of six different species. The research focuses on infectious diseases, especially AIDS, and also includes gene therapy, biodefense, enteric diseases, NHP behavior, and NHP medicine and surgery.
Responsibilities include general medical and surgical care of breeding colony and research animals, research support, and training investigators, veterinary residents, students, and technicians. The successful candidate will join a team of veterinarians and have opportunities for independent or collaborative research.
