Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences . This is a 10-month, full-time tenure-track position that begins in August of 2026.

Responsibilities

Teach 12 contact hours per semester of classes, including introductory biology courses and advanced courses in molecular biology and/or plant biology, and contribute to the General Biology curriculum.

Involve undergraduate and/or master’s level students in publication-worthy research.

Provide service to the Department, School, University, and community.

Serve as an academic advisor and professional mentor to Biology students.

Qualifications Required / Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant area of Biological Sciences or closely related science and must provide evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research. Applicants with expertise in Molecular Biology or Plant Physiology will be considered. Applicants must have effective written and oral communication skills. The following documents will be used to evaluate a candidate’s qualifications: a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and the candidate’s plans for undergraduate research. Preferred Qualifications:

Post-doctoral research and/or teaching experience is preferred.
