Overview
The developing Physician Assistant (PA) Program at North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a 12-month position that reports to the Program Director. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of master's level Physician Assistant (PA) students. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring, and recruitment, curriculum development, and engage in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in curriculum development, instruction, and/or course coordination in the didactic and/or clinical phase of the program; (ii) be effective in the areas of course design, course delivery, and evaluation; (iii) supervise and support physician assistant students in independent research projects; (iv) conduct research and produce scholarly publications; (v) provide service to the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is a growing department focused on accreditation readiness, admissions, and growth, and aims to prepare students to become competent Physician Assistants delivering foundational knowledge and essential clinical skills.
Responsibilities
Provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction for master’s level PA students.
Advise and mentor students, participate in recruitment and curriculum development, and engage in program assessment and accreditation procedures.
Incorporate modern pedagogical skills in curriculum development, instruction, and course coordination for didactic and/or clinical phases.
Design, deliver, and evaluate courses; supervise and support student research projects; conduct research and publish scholarly work.
Contribute to service to the Department, College, University, and relevant community/professional organizations.
Minimum Requirements
A PhD, EdD, DHSc, or professional doctorate in the teaching or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to establish and sustain a strong research enterprise and pedagogical skills for relevant scientific areas.
5+ years of experience in higher education.
5+ years of clinical experience.
Graduate from an accredited PA program.
Eligible for PA licensure in North Carolina.
Current NCCPA certification.
Work Arrangement On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site).
