Overview
Our client, a modern and tech-forward insurance organization, is looking for a Data Engineer to join their growing team in Framingham, MA. This is a full-time opportunity where you’ll work on building scalable data pipelines, architecting cloud-based solutions, and leveraging the latest AI and data technologies to transform insurance workflows. You’ll be at the forefront of designing and implementing data infrastructure that powers real-time insights for agents and customers. This is a full-time hybrid role in Framingham.
Responsibilities
Hands-on development of scalable ETL and real-time streaming pipelines
Designing and optimizing data architecture for analytics and AI-driven applications
Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to deliver data-driven solutions
Monitoring system health, ensuring data quality, and implementing observability best practices
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development
Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and event-driven architecture
Proven experience with relational databases and SQL (Postgres, MySQL, or similar)
Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink, or equivalent)
Proficiency with AWS cloud services (S3, RDS, Redshift, Lambda, SQS, SNS)
Experience designing and building APIs and data integrations
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
Experience working with streaming and real-time data
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with vector databases (PGVector, Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus)
Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and integrating models into production pipelines
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
Experience with data governance, compliance, and security best practices (HIPAA, GDPR)
Prior work in Insurtech or Fintech domains
