Requisition ID: 118863 Adjunct Instructor The Center for Government Excellence (GovEx) is searching for an Adjunct Instructor in City Data Practices for its What Works Cities (WWC) Program. This is a part-time instructional role designed to develop and deliver online content for city leadership focusing on data governance, data strategy, data sharing, data inventories, data quality, and qualitative data practices. Location: Remote Classified Title: Instructional Technologist Job Posting Title (Working Title): Adjunct Instructor Role/Level/Range: ACRO37.5/03/CG Starting Salary Range: $26.00 - $45.50 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.) Responsibilities

Develop online course sites within the learning management system in collaboration with the course-designated instructional designer, placing text, files, images, and media according to approved standards. Collaborate with instructional designers to ensure all course components adhere to design standards; review and edit course documents, recorded lectures, and external links. Assist multimedia specialists with preparation and production of recorded audio/video lectures. Manage copying and readiness of all online course shells for each academic term and ensure readiness for launch on the first day of each term. Provide ongoing assistance to instructional designers and instructors in building/deploying online courses; troubleshoot functionality such as discussion boards, surveys, quizzes, exams, course multimedia, and integrations with external applications. Develop and administer training sessions and online resources for faculty on best practices for learning technologies, online learning, and multimedia instruction. Communicate with faculty and staff through on-site and remote training, and provide ongoing faculty support for online course development. Maintain the EP online orientation course for new online students; develop and deliver training materials for instructional technologies (e.g., Blackboard, Zoom); serve as Blackboard administrator including system upgrades and content management. Draft, update and coordinate distribution of semester email notifications for online students; provide help desk support for instructional technologies; coordinate new technology implementation and provide user training. Advocate pedagogical use of technologies to faculty and staff; troubleshoot and document bugs and issues; perform other related duties as needed. Schedule

Courses are typically taught on Tuesdays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM EST, eight-week terms. Additional office hours are scheduled as needed (Thursdays, 12:00 PM–2:00 PM EST). Estimated workload: approximately 4–8 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field. Two years of progressively responsible experience in course design and development, faculty training, or program/course assessment/evaluation. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted per Johns Hopkins University policy. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with city government data practices and data governance frameworks. Experience with data strategy, data sharing, data inventories, data quality, and/or qualitative data practices. Experience with online teaching and working with adult learners; prior teaching experience is preferred. Department/Faculty Details
