Senior Transit Architect

to join our team in New York, NY or Washington, DC. In this role, you will work on innovative projects that shape the future of transportation. Responsibilities

Work with and coordinate an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for transportation-focused projects. Perform the initial design phase and detailed architectural design work requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants. Prepare architectural plans, and supervise their execution. Analyze design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details. Oversee research used in writing specifications, including coordination with manufacturers. Conduct site and construction inspections for information gathering and prepare interpretive reports. Execute code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions. Analyze design and construction systems and features, researching, compiling, and recording information for project work. Coordinate with other disciplines; plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work. Required Experience and Qualifications

Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred). Minimum of 15 years of experience as a project architect in the rail/transit sector. Transit architecture design experience including station and related facilities. Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York. Experience in the transportation sector. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, SketchUp; LEED Accreditation is a plus. Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong verbal and visual presentation skills. Self-starter with problem-solving focus, teamwork orientation, and client-focused mindset. Compensation

Salary range:

$128,289.89 - $171,053.19 Essential Duties Include

Determine with multiple design disciplines the technical approach and design criteria for projects. Lead and coach architectural staff. Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis. Develop design details, plans and specifications. Serve as quality control reviewer. Use computer software as a design tool to solve complex architectural problems. Contribute new designs or techniques significant to solving important problems. Stay current with codes and technologies relevant to architecture (IBC, NFPA, etc.). Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction. Review shop drawings and RFIs. Benefits
