CGI is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer, with architecture skills to refactor and design future systems, with a passion for solving business problems to join our team. You will be a full-time consultant serving local, enterprise clients, solving challenging business and technical problems. You’ll work with high-profile clients and cutting-edge technologies at CGI, a world-class consulting firm that supports personal and professional growth. Ideally local to St. Louis, MO and willing to work on-site, but remote candidates located within the United States will be considered. Responsibilities
Design various enterprise information and data and analytics strategies, including defining visions, assessing people, processes, and technology; and developing dynamic business value roadmaps. Design and implement modern industry best practices in governance, management, and quality of information/data. Design and implementation of data quality scorecards and metrics. Evaluate, select and implement tools and technology for data catalogs, data governance, data quality and data management. Collaborate with business and technical teams to provide direction for and contribute to development, implementation and rollout of solutions and consulting services. Required Qualifications
Proven experience in designing, building and running large-scale systems Author high-quality Golang code to deliver new features, evolve existing services, and resolve defects Familiarity with API design principles (REST, gRPC) and API gateway technologies Demonstrated expertise in Python and Go, preferably over 7 years of experience Demonstrated experience migrating Python codebases to Go Strong understanding of cloud-native security and DevOps best practices Deep knowledge of Google Kubernetes Engine and Google Cloud Platform Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture and their trade-offs Knowledge of CI/CD best practices Familiarity with data architecture and modeling concepts Familiarity with Observability concepts (SLOs/SLIs) and tools (Datadog, OpenTelemetry) Experience reviewing code and coaching others on style and correctness Experience with relational databases and SQL Experience with Git and GitHub/GitLab Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.) Familiarity with publish/subscribe models (e.g., Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, AWS SNS/SQS) Desired Qualifications
Experience implementing service meshes (e.g., Istio) in Kubernetes Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and deployment via Kubernetes control plane Understanding of Machine Learning and Generative AI concepts Other Information
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range. The current range in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $195,200.00, contingent on skill set, experience, training, and certifications. CGI typically does not hire at the top of the range.
