CGS is searching for an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Mission Training Complex (MTC) located at Camp Bullis.
The ISSO will be responsible for the day-to-day security operations of all systems and networks for classified collateral and SCI networks, ensuring the appropriate operational security posture for JBSA information systems is maintained and documented. The ISSO implements DoD, Army, and JBSA policies, and creates Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, and inspections. Responsibilities include physical and environmental protection, access control, incident handling, security training, vulnerability and compliance management, configuration management, and assisting in the development of security policies and procedures. The ISSO ensures successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and IT policies aligned with the organization\'s mission and goals. The ISSO works in close collaboration with the Government appointed ISSM and performs duties in accordance with DoD Instruction 8510.01, DoD Directive 8140.01, NIST Special Publication 800-37, and AR 25-2.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day security operations of systems and networks for classified collateral and SCI networks.
Maintain and document the operating security posture of JBSA information systems.
Implement and enforce DoD, Army, and JBSA security policies; develop POA&Ms for identified vulnerabilities.
Perform physical and environmental protection, access control, incident handling, security training, vulnerability management, compliance management, and configuration management.
Assist in developing security policies and procedures; ensure security requirements and IT policies are implemented in line with the organization\'s mission and goals.
Collaborate with the Government ISSM on security operations and compliance requirements.
Adhere to DoD 8510.01, DoD 8140.01, NIST SP 800-37, and AR 25-2 guidelines and standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field.
Five years\' experience within the past 10 years in planning simulation exercise architectures, supervising implementation of communication systems, and integration of Army C2IS in support of distributed exercises.
Five years\' experience in information technology management.
Experience with eMass or other RMF databases; ability to create, upload, maintain, and input artifacts.
Meet DoD 8570.01-M and 8140.01 Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Management Level II (IAM II).
U.S. citizenship.
Current DoD SECRET clearance for collateral level or TOP SECRET/SCI.
Three years\' experience on a senior Military Staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or Information Management.
Expert understanding of NIST, DoD, and Army Cybersecurity & Risk Management Framework policies, directives, instructions, manuals, and best practices.
Knowledge of industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security assessment, monitoring, detection, and remediation tools (e.g., ACAS, MECM, ESS).
Knowledge of disaster recovery, continuity of operations plans, and enterprise incident response programs.
Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and Defense-in-Depth principles.
Awareness of known vulnerabilities from alerts and bulletins; understanding of system performance and availability indicators.
Experience with RMF databases (eMass) and maintaining artifacts.
U.S. citizenship.
