Overview
Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with Security Clearance Parsons is pursuing a Senior ISSO to support DoD and Intelligence Community efforts, focusing on cybersecurity aspects of system design, supporting Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. Responsibilities
Utilize JSIG/RMF to achieve and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO), Interim Authorization to Test (IATT), and Authority to Connect (ATC) for on-premise and cloud Information Systems. Develop and maintain security documentation and artifacts (SSP, SCTM, RAR, ConMon, SAR, POA&M) and implement security policies and procedures. Produce and maintain technical documentation such as PPSM worksheets, system and network diagrams, and SOPs. Coordinate and perform security audits and system updates to identify nonstandard events and maintain system integrity. Conduct continuous monitoring activities for Accredited Information Systems (AIS) and manage changes to system artifacts. Perform security impact analysis on configuration management changes and communicate findings to the ISSM. Review and implement secure configuration management techniques. Report cyber incidents or vulnerabilities to the ISSM or government chain of command. Configure and manage security tools and systems (e.g., STIGs, ACAS, HBSS/Trellix/Splunk); monitor network traffic for threats; assist in incident response and remediation. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and apply risk management processes; guide systems through NIST RMF steps using CNSSI 1253 and NIST SP 800-53 controls. Experience with eMASS and Xacta; DoD 8140.03/8570.01 IAMD or similar certification path or ability to obtain within 6 months (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Cyber Ops). Collaborate with DoD personnel, industry partners, and military/civilian staff; work 100% onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Cybersecurity or related field from an accredited university; minimum 8 years of experience. Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for SCI; willing to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph to achieve SAP Security Clearance within 6 months of hire. Active security clearance and ability to work in a dynamic environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). DoD 8140.03/8570.01 Information Assurance Manager II certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, GIAC Security Essentials, SSCP). Experience with enterprise security tools and processes, eMASS/Xacta, SNMP/SIEM concepts, vulnerability management, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Security Clearance & Compliance
An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required. Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence Polygraph. DoD 8140.03/8570.01 IAM II certification or equivalent within 6 months. Additional Information
