Overview

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2026. We seek outstanding candidates from all areas of the chemical sciences whose research intersects with biologically relevant themes such as human healthspan, immunology, and disease. The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, which values evidence-based, student-centered teaching and undergraduate mentoring. They will contribute to an environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students, and the broader community. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a vigorous research program in their area of specialization. Teach chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges. Perform professional and university service as appropriate. Contribute to the college’s commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, research, and service. Qualifications

Potential to develop a vigorous research program in the field of specialization. Experience fostering or ability to foster teaching, learning, mentoring, and a thriving departmental and research environment for all members. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required by the start of appointment. About UW–Madison and RISE
