Overview
Assistant Professor of Discrete Mathematics – tenure-track Simons Empire Faculty Fellow to begin in Fall 2026 at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Binghamton University invites applications from outstanding candidates with expertise in discrete mathematics, with particular interest in research advancing the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum information and computation. Responsibilities
Maintain an active program of high-quality research and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; contribute to the Simons Empire Faculty Fellowship cluster; participate in service and mentoring; collaborate across disciplines in quantum science and AI foundations. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in mathematical sciences or a closely related field by August 17, 2026. Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral experience in mathematical sciences or a closely related field Evidence of collaborative research potential Additional Information
