Overview Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support a program out of our
Aurora, CO
location.
What You’ll Get To Do Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. Develop new procedures as required. Interface with program and customer personnel. The selected candidate should have a strong understanding of software development.
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other STEM related degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at the time of application and willingness to sit for a polygraph
Cameo knowledge
Software systems design experience
Experience with JIRA
Experience with decomposing Element requirements to Subsystem
Experience with acceptance criteria creation

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other STEM related degree with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD.

Experience with acceptance criteria creation
Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with poly
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and CAMEO tools
Salary and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Long Term Incentives may apply for higher leadership roles.
