Headquartered in Houston, Summit Midstream Corporation (NYSE: SMC) develops, owns and operates midstream energy infrastructure assets located in four unconventional resource basins in the continental United States.
SMC has an equity investment in and operates Double E Pipeline, LLC, a natural gas transmission infrastructure that serves the Delaware Basin and Waha Hub in Texas. We generate revenue primarily under long-term, fee-based gathering agreements with areas of mutual interest (AMIs) and minimum volume commitments (MVCs). Position Summary and Responsibilities The Senior Compensation Analyst serves as a key contributor in designing, analyzing, and administering Summit's compensation and benefits programs. This role combines technical expertise with strategic insight to ensure rewards programs remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytics to provide data-driven recommendations while supporting the development of our total rewards strategy.
Conduct complex job evaluations and market pricing analyses using multiple survey sources
Lead the annual compensation cycle, including merit increases and bonus processes
Develop and maintain salary structures, ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness
Partner with HR Business Partners to provide consultative support on compensation matters
Audit and reconcile compensation data across systems (Paylocity, Fidelity, PayFactors, etc.)
Develop advanced compensation dashboards and metrics
Automate and streamline reporting processes where possible
Ensure data integrity across total rewards systems
Analyze benefits utilization and costs to identify trends
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of rewards programs
Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation/benefits regulations
Document and update policies, procedures, and job descriptions
Participate in special projects such as M&A due diligence or system implementations
Oversee participation in surveys
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field
5+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits analysis
CCP, CBP, or GRP certification preferred (or in progress)
Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity, Workday, ADP, Oracle) and compensation tools (PayFactors, MarketPay)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
Knowledge of relevant regulations (FLSA, ERISA, HIPAA, pay equity laws)
Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management abilities
