Description: As a Community Manager, you will provide leadership and management direction on behalf of the Board of Directors and FirstService Residential. This position will oversee the operation and adhere to the mission and vision of the Board and community. The role has oversight of all aspects related to the business and operations of the community, creating a single point of contact, enhancing communication, and providing effective oversight of staff and operations. The Community Manager has the day-to-day operations, legal compliance, and overall oversight of the association and staff. Primary work location: South Shore region of Massachusetts. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction in the development of short-term and long-range plans. Develop recommendations for goals and action plans to achieve Board objectives. Lead annual goal setting. Review organization structure, job descriptions, and functions. Make recommendations to the Board as to changes. Partner with public, private and volunteer organizations to provide community services when necessary. Support the activities of the Board sub-committees. Knowledge of all governing documents; provide recommendations on revisions. Maintain seamless connection between the Board of Directors and committees. Provide community leadership to address homeowners needs or desires. With the Board, create, or cause to be created, and implement the annual working budget, subject to Board approval; monitor the monthly financial position of the association. Provide leadership to Board meetings with agenda support and written/oral reports; summarize priorities and follow up. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staff in accordance with the management plan, if applicable. Collaborate with local emergency organizations to maintain emergency and evacuation plans as appropriate. Confer with other departments, divisions, and outside agencies; identify, develop, and implement programs to meet community needs. Assess and monitor community needs; identify opportunities to improve service delivery and develop new programs; implement improvements. Attend professional group meetings and stay abreast of trends and innovations in community management and programming. Maintain on-site visibility in common areas and facilities. Ensure adherence to master calendar, maintenance calendar, budgets, and subsidy program; review policies for compliance with civil code and governing requirements. Perform building inspections and prepare action plans for opportunities; protect client funds, property, and assets. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field, and three years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction; or equivalent combination. State-specific certifications or licenses may be required or preferable depending on state. Seven years of community management experience or equivalent, with at least 4 years overseeing staff with varied expertise. Management experience in a small or medium-sized organization with multiple departments preferred. Understanding of building management, condominium law, financial planning, and related property management laws. Valid Driver’s License and state-mandated vehicle insurance. Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent. Physical Requirements / Working Environment
Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 lbs; may require climbing stairs. Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and communicate effectively with clients. Finger dexterity for typing; mobility to move around the office and property. Possible extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; may work indoors or outdoors with variable climate. Ability to interact with diverse individuals; maintain mental alertness and attention to detail; manage multiple assignments with interruptions. Hours over normal office hours may occur; schedule subject to change based on business needs. What We Offer
