Our client in Wilmington is seeking a senior accountant on a temp to perm basis. Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex transactions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and decision-making Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff Company & Equal Opportunity
