Overview
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for creating, analyzing, and interpreting our data to make informed decisions. This role is responsible for supporting the Senior Management team with strategic planning, annual operating planning & financial budgeting, and forecasting for our North American distribution footprint. The ideal candidate combines subject-matter expertise within FP&A and accounting with practical and theoretical experience with AI-driven financial modeling software. Responsibilities
Support customer facing activities, specifically sales and Marketing teams, providing accurate and timely financial analysis of key commercial initiatives and activities. Ensure proper accruals are maintained for all customer programs and that proper approvals are in place for all incremental programs and customer marketing support. Reconcile accrual accounts and prepare journal entries as needed. Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions, including ROI, SPB (simple pay back) and DCRR. Raise concerns to team members and leadership when proper hurdle rates are not achieved on key sales and marketing programs and activities. Develop and maintain regular reporting packages including monthly/quarterly Sales and Marketing expense review and prepare budget/forecast variance analysis. Work with the sales team to provide sales forecast adjustments – Risk Hedges & Opportunities. Challenge sales when forecasts seem unachievable. Work with the appropriate teams to develop new business models to capture new business opportunities and diversify Positec revenue. Prepare annual sales and marketing budgets and link to larger business financial planning and reporting. Develop key reporting bridges to simplify reporting and drive action improvements. Maintain customer pricing review process and template; prepare pro forma contribution analysis for all line reviews and promotions. Support product team with new product cost and pricing review. Support Marketing team with media efficiency analysis. Support the finance team with special projects. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a combination of education and relevant work experience Minimum of 5-7 years in a financial or accounting position; FP&A experience is preferred Financial analytics with deep understanding of revenue, margin and pricing and accounting principles Proven experience leveraging AI-driven analytics platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, IBM Watson, Azure AI, or similar) to automate reporting, scenario modeling, or forecast accuracy. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; AI software exposure a plus. Hands-on experience using data aggregation and automation platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau Prep, Snowflake, or similar) to consolidate and transform large datasets. Exposure to corporate performance management platforms (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion, Anaplan, or SAP BPC) to support consolidation, financial close, and enterprise planning Familiarity with machine learning models applied to financial planning (forecasting, risk modeling, and pricing optimization) a strong plus Experience using SAP or any other ERP system is required Excellent communication skills - verbal and written; interpersonal skills Problem analysis and problem-solving Attention to detail and accuracy Data collection and ordering Adaptability to change Good judgment Teamwork High energy and willingness to take initiative Stress tolerance and patience Computer Skills
Proficiency in BI and visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik. Experience with data aggregator/automation tools (e.g., Alteryx) for streamlining reporting and forecasting workflows. Familiarity with CPM software such as OneStream to drive budgeting, consolidation, and reporting accuracy. Exposure to AI and machine learning tools (predictive analytics, LLMs, generative AI) for finance applications. Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, public groups, client and/or customers. Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to provide granular finance and accounting metrics including but not limited to Cost-benefit, ROI, cash flows, Make/Buy/Lease, financial forecasting, budget variance analysis and working capital management. RGM exposure a plus. Reasoning Skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The ability to conceptualize granular data and summarize at high-level for senior leadership including recommendations to course correct or maximize revenue growth.
