Quanta Government Solutions We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in supporting the accounting and compliance needs of a growing federal contracting company. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the government contracting space, and possess a strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, and other applicable regulations. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position, with the expectation that the candidate will pursue CPA licensure to further enhance their expertise and career development.

What You’ll Do

Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close activities.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Oversee fixed asset management and depreciation schedules.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

Support payroll processing, including data validation, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Ensure payroll transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable labor laws, tax requirements, and company policies.

Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee records for payroll and benefits processing.

Ensure adherence to FAR, CAS, and other applicable federal regulations impacting accounting processes.

Assist with indirect rate calculations and maintain cost allocation methodologies.

Support audit preparation (DCAA, financial, and internal), ensuring full compliance with federal requirements.

Collaborate with Contracts and Project Management teams to ensure accurate billing, funding tracking, and contract reporting.

Provide detailed variance analyses, forecasting, and budget-to-actual reporting for management review.

Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in accounting operations.

Participate in ERP system enhancements and ensure proper internal controls are maintained.

Actively work toward CPA certification, with employer-supported continuing education and exam preparation resources.

Stay current on accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends, particularly those impacting federal contractors.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in federal contracting or a highly regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance requirements.

Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to pursuing CPA certification within a set timeframe.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar government contracting accounting systems.

Familiarity with multi-state tax filings, indirect rate management, and contract closeout processes.

Prior experience working in a small-to-mid-sized federal contractor with multiple concurrent contracts.
