About The Role As Revenue Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee revenue recognition for multiple business lines, manage a high-performing accounting team, and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and GAAP. You’ll also partner cross-functionally to deliver accurate financial reporting and support audits, process improvements, and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead revenue recognition for partnership contracts, Swing Suite revenue, gift cards, game play, and memberships
Manage and coach a team of two Sr. Accountants and one Lead Revenue Accountant
Analyze and review customer contracts for compliance with ASC 606; oversee journal entries to ensure accurate period reporting
Manage accrual processes for marketing expenses tied to partnerships and media
Oversee accounting processes for the Topgolf Media finance team
Review monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
Analyze venue and corporate transactions for financial accuracy; prepare presentations for leadership
Review payment applications and incoming checks against open invoices
Provide accounting support for approximately 7 venues, including accruals, close processes, and field inquiries
Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, including schedules and sample requests
Partner with accounting leadership to implement process improvements and strengthen SOX compliance
What You Bring
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management (Required)
CPA designation (Preferred)
4+ years of accounting experience, including leadership/managerial roles (Required)
3+ years of direct ASC 606 application experience (Required)
3+ years of audit experience in public accounting (Preferred)
Experience with SEC registrants (Preferred)
Experience with SAP (Preferred)
Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to research/apply technical guidance
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to train, coach, and develop team members
Comfort navigating multiple software and reporting systems
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and projects
