Wonderful Orchards is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager – Financial to join our corporate team in Shafter, CA. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional responsible for supporting the financial integrity and reporting capabilities of one of the largest agricultural operations in the country. Reporting to the Controller, this position will lead the financial reporting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of key financial information. We’re looking for a results-oriented leader with strong technical skills, a process improvement mindset, and a commitment to team development in a fast-paced environment. Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee key accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and maintaining compliance across entities. General Ledger Management: Oversee accounting operations to ensure the general ledger is accurate, complete, and compliant. Financial Close Process: Manage the monthly closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial statements, including detailed variance analysis. Financial Consolidations: Lead consolidation of financial results across business units; coordinate with corporate on enterprise-wide reporting. Audit Coordination: Serve as primary contact for external auditors; prepare audit schedules and respond to inquiries. Lease and Revenue Accounting: Maintain compliance with lease accounting standards and ensure accurate revenue recognition processes. Account Reconciliations: Review and approve monthly reconciliations in alignment with policy. Intercompany Alignment: Collaborate with sister companies and corporate to align intercompany balances. Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to enhance procedures, controls, and systems. Project Support and Ad-Hoc Initiatives: Contribute to special projects and provide financial input for executive requests. Team Management: Supervise and develop accounting staff for efficient operations and growth. Operational Support: Participate in finance leadership activities and help improve accounting practices across the organization. Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an accounting emphasis. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and general ledger management, including supervisory responsibilities. CPA designation and/or public accounting experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial consolidations, and intercompany transactions. Experience analyzing financial data with high accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience mentoring accounting team. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (Oracle EBS a plus). Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar is preferred. Pay Range:
$140,000 - $160,000 with potential discretionary bonus. Final compensation will depend on skills and experience. Additional Information
